Stonor Park Proms Spectacular

Saturday, 7th August 2003

Musical Associates is delighted to announce that its Proms Spectacular will debut this year at Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames. This stunning location - perfect for a summer's picnic concert - is steeped in history, having been the home of the Stonor family for more than 800 years and a centre on Catholicism throughout, including all the dark days following the Reformation.

The Proms Spectacular will be held at Stonor on Saturday, August 7 and will be the venue's biggest and best concert to date. Exuberant conductor Jae Alexander will lead the wonderful English National Orchestra, and the concert will also feature star soprano Janet Mooney and star tenor Wynne Evans, principal tenor with the Welsh National Opera.

For the first time at Stonor, the Proms Spectacular will feature an original World War 2 Spitfire, which will perform a thrilling aerial display over Stonor Park as the orchestra performs stirring music such as the Dambusters Theme and 633 Squadron.

The concert will feature a wide range of classical favourites including music associated with the "Last Night Of The Proms", such as Rule Britannia, Jerusalem, Pomp & Circumstance and many more. The evening will finish with a spectacular fireworks finale.

So come and picnic with friends in the glorious parkland setting of Stonor Park and experience a unique night of entertainment you will never forget.
