Weston Park Proms Spectacular
Saturday 31st July, 2004
We
were thrilled to produce our debut Proms Spectacular at Weston Park in 2003. One
of the finest stately homes in the country, Weston Park was chosen by Prime
Minister Tony Blair for the "Retreat Day" of the G8 Summit of world
leaders in 1998. It is also one of two venues which hosts the annual V Festival,
attracting in excess of 70,000 people.
The 2003 Proms Spectacular
was a huge success, with Weston Park Chief Executive Colin Sweeney stating it
was the best proms concert the venue has ever had.
The 2004 concert will be held at Weston on Saturday, July 31st and will feature
all the elements which made the 2003 concert such a success.
Conductor Jae
Alexander will be returning with the English National Orchestra, and soprano
Sarah Ryan will again be joined by tenor Wynne Evans, principal tenor with the
Welsh National Opera.
Also returning will be the original World War 2 Spitfire, which will perform a
thrilling aerial display over Weston Park as the orchestra performs stirring
music such as the Dambusters Theme and 633 Squadron.

The
concert will feature a wide range of classical favourites including music
associated with the "Last Night Of The Proms", such as Rule Britannia,
Jerusalem, Pomp & Circumstance and many more. The evening will finish with a
spectacular fireworks finale.
So come and picnic with friends in the glorious parkland setting of Weston Park
and experience a unique night of entertainment you will never forget.
